"For you are all one in Christ Jesus"

The Pearl Harbor Memorial Community Church
began as a Navy Housing Congregation primarily
serving military families from 1941 to 1946. Among
the original Nine Chapels installed by military
authorities during World War II, this was the first
church to be established in April 28, 1946.

In January 1961, the congregation voted unanimously
to become a part of the United Church of Christ, which
comprises the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the
Congregational Christian Church. Eventually in 1975, the
congregation voted to officially change its name to
Moanalua Community Church.

Today, Moanalua Community Church ministers individuals from both the military and civilian sectors; the building was added to the Hawaii State Historical Register and has been nominated
as a National Historical Landmark on August 2, 2003.

Pearl Harbor Memorial Community Church is also
popularly known as "the Church of the Memorial Window."
A fund drive was established to raise $12,000 for
the memorial stained glass window. Today, the
value of this one of a kind masterpiece is priceless.
